Denver Area Art Galleries by Area

Choose a neighborhood from the list below and start exploring Denver's art scene.

  • Cherry Creek  One of Denver’s most distinguished and sophisticated shopping districts, Cherry Creek North is a distinctive blend of shopping, dining and entertainment in a charming, 16-block open-air setting with a village atmosphere. Near the heart of the city, the district is only 10 minutes from downtown, 35 minutes from Denver International Airport or 15 minutes from the Denver Tech Center. Dozens of top galleries are within short walking distance of each other, and several of Denver’s finest restaurants are in the vicinity. The annual Cherry Creek Arts Festival is held in early July. The Cherry Creek North Business Improvement District helps coordinate the area’s visual arts activities.

  • Downtown Denver Gallery owners have renovated many century-old warehouse buildings into lively new businesses in the vibrant entertainment district known as LoDo. Several of Denver’s top art spaces are within walking distance of Coors Field, home to the Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team. The nearby the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver (MCA Denver) has opened a new 27,000-square-foot, $15 million, glass-encased museum at 15th and Delgany streets. The River North Art District (RiNo), home to artists, artisans and custom fabricators, is in a mostly industrial area near LoDo (roughly bordered by Park Avenue West and 38th Street).  The Denver Metro Convention & Visitors Bureau maintains a comprehensive Information Center on the 16th Street Mall (at California Street).  Every Memorial Day weekend, the Downtown Denver Arts Festival draws large crowds to the Denver Pavilions (Glenarm Place and the 16th Street Mall). The fine art and fine craft exhibition features more than 130 Colorado artists.

  • Northwest Denver Close to downtown but very different in many ways, Northwest Denver brings to the area a particularly strong and exciting alternative arts scene. Established artists’ co-ops have been bringing the best in cutting-edge art to Denver for more than two decades. Culturally diverse and historic Denver neighborhoods such as The Highlands and Tennyson Street have attracted artists and collectors alike. On the corner of West 37th Avenue and Navajo Street, co-ops open their doors each weekend (beginning at around 6pm every Friday) to display the works of some of the most talented and well-known artists in the region. Although some alternative galleries maintain only weekend hours, many participate in the First Fridays Art Walk.
