  • Salida “The biggest little art town in Colorado,” Salida is a small but growing town located on the Arkansas River about two hours southwest of Colorado Springs and two-plus hours southwest of Denver. The nearby CollegiateRange provides some of the most spectacular mountain views in Colorado from one of the friendliest towns in the region. A sportsman’s paradise, the area is known for its rafting, kayaking, cycling and skiing. Downtown Salida embraces more than a dozen galleries and storefront studios housed in gingerbread buildings in the state’s largest historic building district.
